Sammed Shikharji hill, also known as Parasnath Hill, is located in Giridih district, Jharkhand. It is the highest peak in Jharkhand with an elevation of about 1,350-1,370 meters. The hill is a major Jain pilgrimage site where 20 of the 24 Jain Tirthankaras attained moksha. The base of the hill is at Madhuban. Pilgrims undertake a parikrama around the hill, which is approximately 27 km long, passing forests and spiritual sites.
