Notes: The Kanwar tribe is mainly found in the Shahdol, Seedhi, Anuppur, and Singrauli districts of Madhya Pradesh. They are also widespread throughout Chhattisgarh and parts of Maharashtra and Odisha.  The Kanwar are a small tribal community within Madhya Pradesh. Their traditional occupation was military duty, but most are now involved in agriculture or work as laborers. They have several subgroups, including the Cherua, Tanwar, and Rathia.
