The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant is located in Japan. It has a net electrical power rating of nearly 8 gigawatts. The plant consists of seven nuclear reactors. It is operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). Kashiwazaki-Kariwa is situated in Niigata Prefecture. After the Fukushima disaster in 2011, units underwent safety upgrades. Unit 6 was restarted in February 2026 after regulatory approval.
