India concluded their Deaflympics shooting campaign in Tokyo with 16 medals: 7 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze. Shooting accounted for 16 out of 39 total medals in the competition over 10 days. Mahit Sandhu, rifle shooter, won 4 medals: 2 gold, 2 silver. Abhinav Deshwal and Pranjali Prashant Dhumal, pistol shooters, won 2 gold and 1 silver. Dhanush Srikanth won 2 gold in 10 metre air rifle individual and mixed team events. Mohammed Murtaza Vania won 1 silver, 1 bronze; Komal Milind Waghmare won 2 bronze. Anuya Prasad won gold in women’s 10 metre air pistol; Shourya Saini silver in 50 metre 3 positions; Kushagra Singh Rajawat bronze in 50 metre rifle prone. At the previous Deaflympics in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, India won 5 shooting medals: 3 gold, 2 bronze.
