Notes: A Western Disturbance is an extratropical storm originating in the Mediterranean region that brings sudden winter rain to the northwestern parts of the Indian subcontinent. Punjab and Haryana receives rainfall in winter because it includes northwest parts of India. It also gets some rains due to cyclonic depressions better to know western disturbances.
