Notes: Freedom fighter Kanaklata Barua was born in the Borangabari village of the undivided Darrang district (now under Sonitpur district) of Assam on December 22, 1924. Known as "Birbala," she was a young martyr who sacrificed her life at age 17 during the 1942 Quit India Movement.
