Birsa Munda led the Ulgulan rebellion in Jharkhand's Chotanagpur region in the late 19th century. Followers recognized him as an incarnation of God (Singbonga), prophet, and Father of the Earth (Dharti Aaba). He founded the Birsait faith, rejected Christianity, promoted worship of one God, and sought to end British rule by proclaiming Munda Raj. Tribal groups like Mundas, Oraons, and Kharias revered him as a divine figure opposing colonial land alienation.
