East Central Railway
Dhanbad railway division was formed on November 5, 1951, under East Central Railway (ECR) zone. Its headquarters are located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The division covers over 2,054 kilometers across multiple states including Jharkhand. Dhanbad is noted for the highest coal loading among Indian Railways divisions. Dhanbad Junction handles more than 100 trains and 100,000 passengers daily.
