- India supports the French initiative of a ''High Ambition Coalition on Bio-diversity Beyond National Jurisdiction '', also known as “Treaty of the High Seas”. It is an international agreement on conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction. It is currently under negotiation at the United Nations.
- France has agreed to join India's Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI). The initiative was proposed by the Prime Minister in November 2019 during the East Asia summit.
