Notes: Hunter Commission was appointed by Lord Ripon in 1882 to promote education among Indians. Lord Ripon passed the factory act in 1881 to improve the dismal conditions of Indian factories. Lord Lytton remained the Viceroy of India from 1876-1880. He introduced the Arms Act 1879.
