Cheraw dance is also known as 'Bamboo dance' because bamboo is used while performing the dance. This dance is one of the most colorful and distinctive dance of Mizos. It is believed to have been done since the first century. The men sit with their heads on the ground, opening and closing in a rhythmic rhythm the long pair of horizontal and cross bamboos. The girls wear multi-coloured Mizo costumes of 'Poonchi', 'Kavach'. 'Wakiriya' and 'Thihna' dance in and out between bamboo beats. This dance is performed in almost all the celebrations.
