Yahoo offers 1TB free storage on Flickr

With an aim to woo more users, Yahoo has redesigned its Flickr photo-sharing service by offering 1 TB of free storage space besides adding new features to it.
The revamp also allows users to host longer video clips and higher-resolution photos, and a new app has been launched for Android devices. The company has also confirmed acquisition plan of blogging platform Tumblr.
Unlike Yahoo’s rivals Google which offers a total of 15GB of free storage across its core cloud services and Facebook which although doesn’t impose any storage limit but downgrades the quality of high-resolution photos, the latest service from Yahoo’s Flicks will allow both hobbyist and professional photographers alike by offering them bigger space to upload high-resolution pictures.
Those wishing to have an advert-free interface now face a $49.99 (£33) annual charge – double what they needed to pay before. In addition anyone wishing to double their storage limit to 2TB needs to pay $499.99 a year.
