‘Hyperloop’ Transport model unveiled

Screenshot_4SpaceX founder and entrepreneur Elon Musk has brought out a transportation concept that he said could take passengers nearly 643 km between Los Angeles and San Francisco in 30 minutes- half the time that an airplane takes.

How would the ‘Hyperloop’ transportation concept work?

The concept ofHyperloop is believed to be similar to the Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT). The concept consist of creating an elevated tube system in which capsules would move from one destination to other with a speed as high as 1,220 km/h. As per the concept in this case the cargo would be people and the ride would start with a force of acceleration like an airplane and afterwards it would be turbulence free. Capsules would be projected through a large nearly air free tube and inside they would be pulled down the line by magnetic attraction. Each capsule would float on a cushion of air it creates like an air hockey table in which the puck produces the air instead of the surface. To minimize friction a powerful fan at the front would suck the air that is in the tube to the rear. Capsules could carry 28 people with a projected cost of about $20 each way.
Cost and Fare:
As estimated, the system linking the two cities, which are 380 miles (610km) apart, would cost $6bn (£3.9bn). A one way trip would cost $20 (£13).
