Recently, The New York administration has announced a new type of vaccination programme known as Vax and Scratch Programme. Under this programme the individuals who are over the age of 18 will be given a shot at a lottery prize if they get vaccinated.

The Vax and Scratch programme has been announced by the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.

If an individual who is over the age of 18 gets vaccinated in any of the 10 state run vaccination centres in New York, then they will be given a chance to participate in a lottery for free of cost. This lottery has a cash amount of 5 million USD.

This programme has been initiated since the vaccination rate is slow in this region, and hence, to ensure that people get vaccinated quickly this programme offers the cash prize to attract people to get vaccinated. Generally, if a person has to buy a ticket for the lottery it will cost 20 dollars, but if they get vaccinated then it’s free of cost.
