First India China Think-Tanks Forum

The First India-China Think-Tanks Forum was held on 9-10 December 2016 in New Delhi. The Forum is a bilateral platform established by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) concluded between Ministry of External Affairs, India and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in May 2015. The forum was jointly organised by the Institute of Chinese Studies, the Indian Council of World Affairs, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The theme of the forum was ‘Towards a Closer India-China Developmental Partnership’. The Forum saw the participation of strategic thinkers, economists, academics, and social scientists from the two countries. The forum provides an institutional platform for regular and continued exchanges between the think-tank communities of the two countries to carry out in-depth discussion on various issues concerning the relationship between India and China like strengthening India-China strategic communication, promoting economic ties, deepening people-to-people cooperation. The second India-China Think-Tanks Forum is scheduled to be held in Beijing in 2017.
