Paul Romer, the American economist, will be the new Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank (WB). He will succeed Kaushik Basu, a former Indian government economics adviser, on September 2016. Presently, Romer is a professor at New York University (NYU) and director of NYU’s Marron Institute of Urban Management.
