Kochi has become the first Indian city to be officially declared as one of the venues for hosting the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. A 23-member high-level delegation consists of FIFA experts’ ratified Kochi as venue after visiting Jawarharlal Nehru International Stadium. This will be the first time India will host an international football competition at worldwide level.
