The world’s largest filled aperture radio telescope “Tianyan” has been built by China in Guizhou Province. The radio telescope is also known as Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST). The purpose of FAST is to discover the laws of the development of the universe. It will be used to study stellar radio emissions, gravitational waves and potentially signals from extraterrestrial civilizations.
