The Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF) will be started from Kolkata, West Bengal on August 26, 2016 , after which it will travel all over the world for the next 6 months to mark the canonisation of Mother Teresa on September 4,2016. The Roman Catholic nun Mother Teresa, who passed away in 1997 after serving the poor and sick on the streets of Kolkata for 45 years, will be declared a saint by Pope Francis in the Vatican City on September 2016. The film festival will be organised by the World Catholic Association for Communication’s India chapter and will focus on her life and teachings.
