Angela Ruggiero, the former Olympic ice hockey gold medalist from United States, has been elected as the new chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Athletes’ Commission. She will succeed Claudia Bokel,whose 4-year term is expiring at the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics. Currently, Ruggiero is the Vice-Chair of the Commission. The IOC Athletes’ Commission is a body maintained by the International Olympic Committee for the purpose of representing athletes.
