On October 15, 2025, India celebrates World Students’ Day to mark the 94th birth anniversary of Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam, born in 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, was a scientist, educator, and statesman. He served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007 and was known as the “Missile Man of India.” Dr. Kalam made major contributions to India’s space and defence programmes. He remained deeply connected with students and education throughout his life. World Students’ Day honours his belief that the strength of a nation lies in its youth.
