Notes: Jayapala was the last ruler of the Pala dynasty in ancient Assam before the kingdom was invaded by the Gaur king Ramapala. The Pala dynasty ruled parts of eastern India including Assam from the 8th to the 12th century. Mahipala, Ramapala, and Gopala were earlier Pala rulers associated mainly with Bengal and Bihar regions.
