Notes: Sir Shadi Lal became Chief Justice of Lahore High Court in 1920, the first Indian to hold this post. Born in Rewari (now Haryana), he served from 1920 to 1934. He was an eminent jurist from Punjab, noted for his judicial reforms and legal acumen.
