Notes: Vishnuvardhana (c.1108-1152) freed Gangavadi from the Cholas (who had held it since 1004), in 1114 A.D. and in commemoration of this victory he built the celebrated Keertinarayana temple at Talakad, and Vijayanarayana (Chennakeshava) Temple at Belur.
