Notes: Ganga Narayan Singh was the son of Lakshman Singh. He led the Bhumij Revolt (1832-33) in the Jungle Mahals region of present-day Jharkhand and West Bengal. The revolt opposed East India Company's land revenue policies. Ganga Narayan formed the tribal army "Sardar Gorilla Vahini Sena." He was killed on February 7, 1833, fighting against Thakur Chetan Singh of Kharsawan.
