Maulana Abul Kalam Azad
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was the President of the Indian National Congress during the 1940 Ramgarh session. The session was held in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, as the 53rd session of the Congress. Azad served as Congress president from 1940 to 1946. He delivered the presidential address opposing British imperialism, Nazism, and Fascism. The session passed a resolution for constituting a Constituent Assembly. Other leaders like J.B. Kripalani and Sitaramaiah did not hold the presidency at this session.
