Notes: Samudragupta was the second king of Gupta Empire. He succeeded his father Chandragupta I around 335 or 350 CE, and ruled until 375 CE. Vishnugupta was one of the lesser known kings of the Gupta Dynasty. He is generally considered to be the last recognized king of the Gupta Empire. His reign lasted 10 years, from 540 to 550 CE. Ashoka was emperor of the Maurya Dynasty, who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE. Bimbisara was a king of the Magadha empire and belonged to Haryanaka dynasty.
