Notes: In 1861, a newspaper, the Indian Mirror, was edited and published by Manmohan Ghosh and Devendranath Tagore of Calcutta. Tagore was born in 1817 in Bangladesh and died in 1905. He was a philosopher and theologian. In 1843 he founded a religious movement called the Brahmo Samaj, a Hindu revolutionary movement.
