Mahadaji Pant Guruji
Mahadaji Pant Guruji was a significant scholar and adviser in the Peshwa court at Pune. Not only was he a tutor to Peshwas Madhavrao I and Sawai Madhavrao, but he also played a pivotal role in court politics. In 1763, he was instrumental in re-securing Nana Phadnis’s appointment at the Peshwa court, using his political acumen and influence. His contributions included organizing the Maratha army and supporting administrative reforms during a crucial period for the Maratha state.
