Sultan Muhammad bin Tughluq
Jayaba Mukne was the founder of the Jawhar State in Maharashtra around 1306 and the first Koli ruler of the Mukne dynasty. After establishing his authority over Jawhar, his son Nem Shah succeeded him. The Delhi Sultan, Sultan Muhammad bin Tughluq, recognized Nem Shah as the Raja and conferred upon him the title "Shah." This act was significant because it marked the rare official acknowledgement of a local tribal ruler from Maharashtra by a major sultanate, reflecting the diverse and complex political landscape of medieval India.
