Yashwantrao Martandrao Mukne
Yashwantrao Martandrao Mukne, also known as Patangshahji Mukne or Dada Saheb, was the Koli Maharaja of Jawhar State in Maharashtra. He is distinguished in history for his contribution to India’s independence movement and industrial development by establishing a pistol and firearms manufacturing factory in Nepal in 1907. This rare achievement highlighted his support for anti-British revolutionaries. Unlike other noted Maharashtra leaders who focused mainly on politics, Mukne was involved in industrial innovation, educational reforms, and modernization, marking his unique place in Maharashtra’s legacy.
