Kuljeet Kaur Marhas
Kuljeet Kaur Marhas became the first Indian woman elected Fellow of The Meteoritical Society for 2026. She is a professor at Physical Research Laboratory in the Planetary Science Division. The Meteoritical Society, founded in 1933, is among the world’s leading organisations in meteoritics and planetary science. Prof. Marhas is only the third Indian scientist to receive this honour after Devendra Lal and JN Goswami. Her research focuses on short-lived radionuclides, stable isotopes, pre-solar grains, chondrules, and meteorites to understand the origin and evolution of the Solar System.
