Notes: Raja Ram Mohan Roy is known to be the Father of the Indian Renaissance. Raja Ram Mohan Roy was a non-conformist to many a tradition. He was born in 1772, in Radhanagar village in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He is also known for his efforts to abolish the practice of Sati, polygamy, infanticide, child marriages.He was a secularist as he was inspired by Christianity, Islam and the Upanishads.
