Qutb-ud-din Aibak founded the Mamluk Dynasty (1206-1290), the first Muslim dynasty in India. Aibak, a former slave of Muhammad Ghori, oversaw the construction of Qutub Minar and Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque. His successor, Iltutmish, standardized currency with the silver tanka and copper jital and established the Iqta system for administrative decentralization.
