Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off the Baaj Akh–Anti Drone System (ADS) to curb smuggling of weapons and drugs via drones from Pakistan. Punjab became the first state to deploy Anti Drone System (ADS) at the international border as a second line of defence with the Border Security Force (BSF). Three ADS have been launched, six more to follow, costing ₹51.4 crore. In 2024, 283 smuggling drones were seized; in 2025 so far, 137 have been recovered.
