The Bihar government launched Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana to promote women’s self-employment and entrepreneurship. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the scheme and its application portal. The scheme aims to make women economically independent, boost family incomes, and reduce out-migration. Eligible women will get ₹10,000 initial assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to start small businesses or livelihood activities. If progress is shown, up to ₹2 lakh additional support will be provided after six months, based on performance. The scheme will be implemented by Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society (Jeevika) under the Rural Development Department.
