Talagunda Inscription
The Talagunda inscription is located in Shivamogga district, Karnataka. It is written in Sanskrit verse by poet Kubja during Santivarma's reign. It narrates Mayurasharma's transformation from a Brahmin student insulted by a Pallavi horseman into the founder of the Kadamba Kingdom. It is a primary source on early Kadamba history and among the earliest examples of high-quality Sanskrit poetry in Karnataka.
