Both Barhait and Merel
The Gumani River originates in Rajmahal Hills, Sahibganj district, Jharkhand. It flows southwest to northeast up to Barhait and then east to join the Ganga River in West Bengal. Barhait marks a key directional point along its course. The Merel River is also part of the Gumani basin within the Rajmahal Volcanic Province, making it a tributary. Jamunia is not recorded as a tributary to the Gumani River in Jharkhand.
