The Bhumij Revolt (1832-33) was led by Ganga Narayan Singh in Jharkhand's Chotanagpur region. The British termed it "Ganga Narain's Hungama" (ruckus). It was a tribal uprising against British revenue policies and local oppression affecting Jungle Mahal areas like Purulia, Bankura, and Singhbhum. The revolt disrupted British control until Ganga Narayan's death in 1833. The term was not associated with the Chero or Sardari revolts.
