A parent caring for their own children at home
Labour in economics refers to compensated work used in producing goods or services. Unpaid activities such as a parent caring for their own children at home are not included in the definition of labour as they do not enter the wage-earning labour market. Only paid employment or services exchanged for monetary compensation constitute labour in the economic sense.
