Notes: Chinook is basically warm winds originally meant a warming wind from the ocean into the interior regions of the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Harmattan is a dry and dusty north-easterly trade wind which blows from the Sahara Desert over the West African. Mistral is a strong, cold, north-westerly wind that blows from southern France into the Gulf of Lion in the northern Mediterranean.
