Notes: Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq founded the Tughlaq dynasty in 1320 CE. He was the first sultan to start the irrigation works. He undertook many infrastructure projects including irrigation canals connecting Yamuna-Ghaggar and Yamuna-Sutlej rivers, bridges, madrasas, mosques, and other Islamic buildings.
