Seraikela-Kharsawan
Seraikela-Kharsawan district in Jharkhand is the origin of the Seraikela Chhau dance. This dance form is one of the three distinct Chhau styles from eastern India and uses masks for storytelling. It was preserved under the royal patronage of the former Seraikela state. UNESCO recognizes the Seraikella style of Chhau dance. Other districts like Godda, Deoghar, and East Singhbhum do not have this association with the Chhau dance tradition.
