Bidar Sultanate was founded by Qasim Barid I, a Georgian slave. The Deccan had five Sultanates—Bidar, Bijapur, Berar, Ahmadnagar, and Golconda—formed after Bahmani Sultanate's breakup. Each founder had distinct origins. Bidar was annexed by Bijapur in 1619.
