Notes: Chandragupta I adopted the title of 'Maharajadhiraj' in Pataliputra. He was a king of the Gupta dynasty who ruled in the north India. He adopted 'Maharajadhiraj' title in 320 CE. Maharajadhiraj means "great king of kings". He married Kumaradevi, the princess of Lichchavi and then extended his political power in the regions of Modern Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
