Notes: Bihar was separated from Bengal in 1912. The decision was announced by King George V at the Delhi Durbar on 22 March 1912. Formal implementation occurred on 1 April 1912, creating the Bihar and Orissa Province from the Bengal Presidency. Patna became the capital.
