National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is observed every October globally, including in India and the United States. The month aims to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and promote safe online practices among individuals, families, businesses, and communities. The theme for 2025 in India is “Cyber Jagrit Bharat,” meaning Cyber Safe India. The month focuses on cybersecurity as a national priority. NCSAM was launched in 2004 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA). In India, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), leads campaigns to build cybersecurity resilience.
