1860. The Rail services were started by the East Indian Railway and a train ran between Howrah and Rajmahal. From Rajmahal, the East Indian Railway expanded further and connected with other cities, towns and districts. The rail services reached Bhagalpur in 1861, Munger in 1862. Around 1862, first tunnel was made in Bihar at Jamalpur and the first major bridge was made on the river Sone near Arrah.
