Duka Ho was the original name of the man who started the Hari Baba movement in 1931 in Singhbhum district, Jharkhand (then Bihar). The movement was a revivalist effort among tribes like Hos and Santals, promoting traditional purity, racial isolation, vegetarianism, sacred thread, alcohol abstinence, and Gandhian ideals during the Civil Disobedience Movement. Duka Ho was also known as Hari Baba. The movement ended with his arrest.
