The sanctioned strength of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) is 65 excluding the chairman. The members are drawn from both judicial and administrative streams and are appointed by the president of India. The chairman of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) holds office for a term of five years or until he attains the age of 65 years whereas in case of other members the age limit is 62 years, whichever is earlier.
